Thunder behavior

We get lots of thunderstorms here. Distant thunder does not bother Zulu, but when it is on top of us, he barks like crazy. If I would let him out, he would run back and forth in the yard at full speed and bark at the sky. Pouring rain does not bother him one bit. If I have him sit with me during the storm, he is OK. Luckily, the storms are fast moving, the worst of it is usually over in 15-20 minutes.

 

My pups bark at the loud close by strikes and only occassionally at other boomer, mostly they just ignore it. My first shelite was a thunder obsessive dog he would begin barking hours before we ever heard anything- thunder and the phone and he could never be dissuaded.
