I saw my first Blue Merle today!! Gorgeous, and I want one

    I have only seen blue Merle's in pictures; I was at the grocery store with Sandstorm and an older gentleman pulled over in his car to show us his sheltie. I FELL IN LOVE! This sweet 15" girl had blue eyes, absolutely beautiful! I don't often see shelties, and this little blue one was adorable. I brought Sandstorm over to see her, what a difference! Sandstorm looks like a male, and is just about 20", 37 pounds. This man gave me his phone number, as I wanted to know where they got this little blue girl. We are planning on getting a puppy in late spring, early summer, I know there is a breeder in Massachusetts who only breeds blue Merle's. I didn't know if I would like the blue eyes but I do! Sandstorm is a very handsome sable and I would be happy with another one, but I would like a little one.

    There are so few of us!!!

    I met a Blue at my vet when Logan was ill. She was so sweet and showed true concern over him. It was just so touching! It was the only Blue I had ever met.

    Sables rule in my world. Other than Zulu, never seen a tri, bi, or blue in person. Most dog people recognize Z as a Sheltie, but are amazed at his color.

    DH would love a bi-blue or a merle with the tan. I think they're breathtaking!

    I wanted one long before I saw one in pictures or in person......
    then I saw a sable merle in person and had to have one of those:winkgrin::yes:
    I did get the biblue later.......

    Eli's mom is a gorgeous, powdery blue-silver color - just stunning. To me it depends on the merle-ing - some big black patches on the face, especially around the eyes, I find distracting. But in general, they are really nice looking...One of Brooke's Grand Champion daughters is a stunning bi-blue girl.

    Ooh yes I do like that powdery blue-silver coat with a more sable around the face and not much black, makes them look like a real fairy Tooney.
