size question

    When a breeder says a puppy will be moderate size what does that mean height wise?

    I would think that that means that they will most likely remain in size. In size being in conformation with the standard--13 to 16 inches.

    Of course, breeders can only make an educated guess and even dogs that seem moderate when they are puppies can be over or under the standard height.

    If by knowing the height now can you tell what they will end up?

    I think there are a couple different height charts that breeders use (maybe some on here could clear things up?) but by Googling it, I found this site:

    http://bowlingsite.mcf.com/size/size.html

    If you know your dog's height and age, you can place them on the chart to see if they are running on the high or low end--or moderate.

    But again, it's a guess based on averages.

    According to the growth charts, Beckon is going to be the size of an average Shetland...PONY!!!

    MMM is right in there too......Shetland Pony size that is.......he is soooo tall this week.

    Chris how tall is Beckon now and he is what age? I really like them taller personally.

    Beckon is just over 5 months and is 16 inches. EEK~:eek2: If like 'em tall, he's your boy!
